Arflex is an Italian manufacture that specialized in the creation and sales of contemporary furniture.
Getting started in 1947, a number of researchers and entrepreneurs that began to work on two new upholstering materials - foam rubber and elastic tape made by Pirelli - presented the technical specifications of the new products to Marco Zanuso, famous Italian architect and designer, who saw the great prospective of the unique materials in interior furniture designs. As the result, Zanuso created an experimental new project of operations that went on until 1950.
The number of designers who collaborated and contributed to the Arflex is just incredible: Franco Albini, De Carlo, Belgiojoso, Peressutti, Roger, Carboni, Pulitzer, Menghi, Joe Colombo, Casati, Spadolini, Tito Agnoli, Marenco, Cini Boeri, Carlo Colombo, Cristof Pilelt, Vincent Van Duysen, Michele De Lucchi, Ettore Sottsass, Marco Piva, Paola Vella and much more.
